HEXNUB Reusable #4 Coffee Filter for Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV and KBT

A reusable coffee filter gives daily drip enthusiasts a durable way to stop restocking disposable paper cones without losing brew clarity. The HEXNUB Reusable #4 Coffee Filter is built explicitly to replace throwaway paper in select batch brewers, offering a permanent alternative tailored to machines like the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGV and KBT.

Filtration quality is defined by the 50-micron stainless steel mesh. While standard metal cones can sometimes let gritty grounds slip into the carafe, this ultra-fine barrier is designed to catch fine sediment while still letting natural coffee oils flow freely into your cup. The result is a cleaner brew that retains the body and aromatic oils often trapped by disposable paper cones.

Extraction consistency depends heavily on water movement through the brew basket. This basket features an optimized flow rate intended to ensure even saturation of the coffee grounds throughout the brewing cycle, preventing pooling or uneven channeling. Its food-grade 304 stainless steel frame measures 5 inches by 5 inches by 3.30 inches, finished with a 0.25-inch lip that provides a steady, secure seat inside compatible brew baskets.

Daily maintenance is straightforward because the entire unit is dishwasher-safe and simple to rinse clean at the sink between uses. The primary limitation of this accessory is its specialized fit. Despite using the common #4 designation, this is not a universal cone. It does not fit standard cone brewers from brands like Ninja or Cuisinart, meaning it only delivers value if your exact machine matches the compatibility list.

Verdict: For owners of supported Technivorm, KRUPS, or Simply Good brewers, this reusable coffee filter is a reliable, zero-waste upgrade that balances fine sediment filtration with rich coffee oil extraction. Anyone using unsupported drip machines should look elsewhere for a broader universal option.

• Material: Food-grade 304 stainless steel
• Mesh Rating: 50 microns
• Dimensions: 5" × 5" × 3.30"
• Lip Width: 0.25"
• Filter Size: #4 cone style
• Cleaning: Dishwasher-safe or rinse clean

A great fit if you:

• Own a compatible Technivorm Moccamaster, KRUPS Essential 8 Cup, or Simply Good Coffee Brewer and want to eliminate ongoing paper filter waste.
• Prefer full-bodied drip coffee with its natural aromatic oils rather than having those oils absorbed by paper filters.
• Want a low-maintenance stainless steel basket that you can quickly rinse at the sink or place straight into the dishwasher.

Consider something else if you:

• Brew your coffee with machines from Ninja, Cuisinart, or other brands that require standard universal cone baskets.
• Own an unsupported Moccamaster model number that does not match the manufacturer compatibility list.
• Prefer completely oil-free drip coffee that only single-use paper paper filters can provide.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check your brewer model number against the listed compatible Moccamaster numbers (such as 53941, 79112, or KBGV).
• Measure your machine filter basket clearance to verify it accommodates the 5-inch by 5-inch by 3.30-inch profile and 0.25-inch rim.
• Check whether your brewer is a KRUPS Essential 8 Cup or Simply Good Coffee Brewer if you do not own a Moccamaster.

How to compare your options: When shopping for permanent coffee filters, the most critical factors are basket dimensions, mesh density, and material safety. Look closely at micron ratings, as finer mesh screens catch more sediment while preserving flavor oils. Always verify machine-specific compatibility before purchasing, because general cone sizes vary slightly between manufacturer basket shapes.

Inspect the 0.25-inch outer lip when placing the filter into your brew basket to verify it sits level and fully seated before adding your ground coffee.

Rinse the stainless steel mesh under running water immediately after brewing to clear out spent grounds before oils dry inside the 50-micron pores.

For deeper periodic cleaning, place the basket on the top rack of your dishwasher to strip accumulated coffee oils and maintain a balanced flow rate.

Always verify your brewer model code before first use to ensure the lid closes properly over the 3.30-inch basket depth.
